Hansen’s IGA Market Response to the Coronavirus/COVID-19: Update 3/19/2020

We thank you for your patience during this unfortunate time in our country as we dive into the unknown and find our way through. We’d like to take the time to update you on additional steps we are taking in order to provide the best and safest shopping experience for you and for our associates.

Hours

As of March 20, 2020 we will be open from 7am – 7pm

As we work through these extraordinary times, we have again made temporary adjustments. Beginning March 20, we will be open 7am – 7pm to give our associates more time to clean and restock our stores.

Also beginning March 18, though our hours of operation are now 7am-7pm, we ask that our customers reserve the 7am-8am shopping hour for those who are at a greater risk of complications from the coronavirus/COVID-19  (elderly, those with health concerns or immune issues, pregnant woman…).

Hansen’s IGA stores will temporarily change all store hours in efforts to provide our stores even more time to replenish shelves and sanitize. Our store associates are working diligently, and we are proud of their perseverance.

We offer many Fresh Deli and Grab n’ Go options like rotisserie chicken, fried chicken, sliced meats, salads, sandwiches, and more. Please call to confirm deli hours and feel free to call in an order for pick up.

Thank you valued customer for your patience and if you have any questions or concerns please seek out our store managers. We will continue to monitor the situation and adjust as needed.

Return Exchange Policy

Due to the concerns of the coronavirus/COVID-19 all sales are final. Absolutely no returns, refunds, or exchanges.

Weekly Ads

We work weeks in advance to obtain the specials we then offer to you in our weekly ads. Our weekly ad that will run Monday, March 23 through Sunday, March 29, 2020 was printed a week and a half ago in order to ship it to the newspapers who distribute to your home. We are now faced with inability to guarantee product and/or the quantities of those products. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Rain Checks

We appreciate your business and we are doing our very best to keep our shelves stocked to meet the needs of all shoppers during these challenging times.

Unfortunately, we may occasionally be out of an advertised special. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

However, until further notice, we are unable to offer rain checks due to supplier limitations and simply not knowing when the product might become available. Thank you for your understanding and support.

Item Limits

In an effort to ensure we have product available for many of our guests, we are implementing limits on how much of a certain item or items can be purchased at one time. If you have questions about product availability, we recommend checking with the store before you make a trip so that you are not disappointed.

Store Dining Areas

All stores with dining areas are closed to the public, however you may purchase our prepackaged prepared foods from our delis to enjoy at home

Produce Safety Reminder

Please remember to wash your produce before eating or cooking

Social Distancing

In an attempt to contain the spread of the coronavirus, the CDC recommends maintaining at least 6 feet of space from other people for your safety and ours. Each and every time you reduce the number of contacts you have each day will have a considerable impact on the ability of the virus to spread throughout our communities

Store Environment

Our associates are dedicated to wipe down and sanitizing our shopping carts as staff is available. We offer stations as you enter to wipe down additionally as well.

Hand sanitizer is accessible at our registers, counters, and food service areas as long as supplies last.

We have temporarily stopped in-store samplings

We have increased our cleaning routines for high-touch areas throughout the stores

Bakery Deli Self-Serve Suspension

In order to help protect our customers and our employees from issues related to the coronavirus we have suspended all self-serve sales from both Deli and Bakery departments

This includes all hot self-serve foods, including soup, all cold self-serve foods, and all self-serve doughnuts

These items are all still available but will be prepackaged by our staff

Please ask our staff for anything you may need or if you require further explanation

Store Supplies

We will make every attempt to keep stores stocked and are working around the clock to stock cleaning supplies, paper products, and other items that are high in demand as fast as we can at our normal prices

Associates

Continue to review proper hygiene

Associates are not allowed to come to work when ill

Please understand we do allow our associates to take additional precautions and should they choose may wear masks and/or gloves but are not allowed to come to work ill

We will continue to assess the situation daily utilizing resources such as the State of Wisconsin, CDC and our Industry Associations.
